My name is Anna Mialky and my preferred pronouns are she/her.
I am from Granville, Ohio and here is a picture of me!
I intend to teach high school english students.
In high school I was very involved in choir and intend to participate in that when I go to campus. Additionally, I am currently involved with cru at JCU! One thing I plan on doing this semester is taking care of my new puppy that my family and I got for Christmas!
The most salient things to me are my friends, my faith, and my family. In the fourth Harry Potter novel, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, J.K. Rowling writes:
“We are only as strong as we are united, as weak as we are divided.”
To me this signifies the importance of being there and supporting my friends and family as well as relying on them when I experience challenges in life. I think in culture today we are expected to be independent and keep our problems to ourselves but as J.K. Rowling suggested, we are stronger, happier, and overall better when we support one another.
I chose to enroll as a service participant in Griot Village After School Tutoring on Saturdays at 10 a.m.
Learning Style and more:
I think the most important thing for me is to have a good relationship with both my teacher and my classmates. If I feel comfortable with who I am working with and feel comfortable asking questions then I will be able to succeed.
Education Past and Present
There are many significant issues facing the field of education currently but I believe the most obvious and prominent issue is that due to Covid-19, some students are not face to face, such as myself, and that can make teaching and learning difficult.
